The concept
A digital product is one whose value lies in the knowledge or information delivered, such as an online course, an e-book, a mentorship, or training material. Unlike a physical product, a digital product is delivered electronically, usually through a membership area or an access link.
Selling digital products outside Brazil comes with payment challenges different from selling only in the domestic market: international card approval, currency conversion, and withdrawal periods that vary by platform.
How it shows up in practice
You create a course on e-commerce and sell it to people in Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. Each buyer pays in their local currency and you receive in reais. Access is delivered in minutes through a members area. There's no physical product, just the knowledge within the platform.
Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the internet.
An infoproduct is a digital product of knowledge or information. Those who sell internationally face a different payment challenge than those who sell only in Brazil: approving international cards, handling currency conversion, and managing withdrawal timelines that vary. This is why payment infrastructure matters so much in this model.
