Affiliate

Someone who promotes another person's product and earns a commission on every approved sale, paid automatically by the platform.

An affiliate is someone who sells a third party's product and earns an agreed percentage on every approved sale. Whoever creates the product is the producer, whoever promotes it is the affiliate, and the platform sits in the middle: it records where the sale came from and splits the money at the moment of approval.

Tracking is usually done through a link with its own identifier, and payment goes out through payment split, without the producer having to transfer anything by hand. On an international sale, the commission is paid in the same currency as the transaction, which changes when and how the affiliate can withdraw it.

The two points that generate the most friction are the timeline, because the commission only becomes available after the sale's withdrawal period, and the refund, because if the purchase turns into a chargeback the commission is debited back.

Revenue splits agreed in conversation turn into arguments on payout day. Configured in the platform, they simply happen, and the partnership lasts longer.
