Average order value is revenue divided by orders. It's the number that decides whether your traffic math closes, because it's the ceiling on what you can afford to pay per sale.

Raising the average order value is usually cheaper than raising volume: order bump and upsell increase the order's value with no additional acquisition cost.

There's a trade-off. A high ticket draws more fraud review and more declines from the issuing bank, so the gain is only real if the approval rate holds up.
